dogshaming

My friend, Dina, sent me the funniest site called Dogshaming where dogs confess to their sins. It made me laugh so hard and made me feel a lot better about my rather, er, high maintenance dog. Here are a few of my favorite pictures and one from Maggie.

knit to gather

Now that summer is winding down and fall and the cooler weather will soon be upon us, my friend, Jen, decided to start a knitting club that meets every week at Miro Tea. Now, I've never really thought much about learning to knit, but I'm an experience junkie and don't often turn down the chance to learn something new. Turns out, it's super fun...especially in a tea shop! Jen was a great teacher and very encouraging. For example, instead of saying my work looked like a kid's crappy craft project, she would simple say it was "adorable!" Woo! My work is adorable! I'll take it!

 Tea samples!

No idea what's going on here, but this pictures makes me smile.

Dina is making a washcloth and Jen (right) is making a neck warmer for her daughter.

Sticking your tongue out helps to get it right.

My first attempt!

I'm pretty proud of my first little practice knit.

life in instagrams

Here are a few Instagrams from our life lately!

Things like this make me pure giddy.

Still a cone head. Hoping to have it off soon.

Hatch Chile Peppers have arrived! Do you know about them? Only limited quantities each year.

Avocado, celery, kale, date, strawberry smoothie

Again...giddy. These veggies were roasted for tacos.

Shouldn't all bike racks be this festive? This one was outside a knitting shop.

Green tea lattes.

Anders whips up some fried rice (in costume, of course)

it don't matter

This week has, without a doubt, been the worst one I've had all year...as in...one for the books bad. However, if there is one thing I DO know it's that Robert Randolph and the Family Band can make even the worst week better! Especially when they are playing at the zoo because that's just down right cool.

Here is one of my favorite songs!

jenn turns 40

Our friend Jenn turned 40 this past weekend, and we helped her celebrate with a luau at Matthews Beach Park! Here are some of my favorite shots.

Hand's down my favorite picture of the day.

sunset supper

My favorite event in all of Seattle is the Sunset Supper, which is held at the Pike Place Market. When I try to explain it to people I usually say it's like the Taste of Seattle only instead of paying each time you want to try a vendor, you actually pay just one fee and you get to try EVERYTHING. Tons of high end Seattle restaurants, wineries and distilleries serve up food and drinks all night long (think Matt's in the Market, Seatown and Trophy Cupcakes!). Anders and I made it a mission to try everything, but luckily being too full to live was for a good cause. The event raises money for the Pike Place Market Medical Clinic, Senior Center, Child Care and Food Bank.

Also, I apologize for the lack of good photos. It was hard to take pictures with a plate in one hand and a wine glass in the other! Priorities, right?

gum wall

I love being a tourist in the city where I live. I've only been here five years, so I feel like there are still so many new things for me to see and do all the time. I had some time to kill tonight at the market, so I went and took some photos of Seattle's famous gum wall. It's pretty much the world's most disgusting tourist attraction, but oddly cool at the same time. It's what makes this city so unique and interesting, and I had a really good time hanging out there and talking to the tourist who were also taking photos.

color me happy

Hi guys! Here are a few instagrams from the color run we did on Sunday. It was one, big, awesomely colorful party with some exercise thrown in. Everyone wins!

Clean!

 Not so clean

The purple guy had it out for me. It took two showers to get it all out. Worth it, though.
