life lately

It has been a busy December! In addition to all of the holiday festivities, Anders has been working his crazy holiday schedule at the market (80+ hours in a week!). We also signed up to be dog sitters on Rover and have had two clients already. We had a nice and relaxing Christmas Day, and we are looking forward to an easy New Year's Eve as well. I'm excited about our plans for 2016, but I'm always excited about plans, so that's nothing new! Let's do this!

mt. dickerman

Anders, Maggie, Sammy and I hiked Mt. Dickerman today, and I have to say it's one of the more challenging hikes I have done in awhile. The web says it's 8.6 miles round trip, but my fitbit logged me at over 11 miles. I'm not sure which one is correct, but I'll just say it FELT like 11 miles. So long! So difficult! However, the views at the top were well worth the miles and miles of suffering. We were a little late in the hiking season, so when we got to the top it was extremely cold and windy as we were above the treeline on an open faced mountain top. We only made time to snap some quick pictures before retreating down the mountain. Still worth it, though. I highly recommend Mt. Dickerman if you are up for a long day of hiking.

Meet Sammy! 

Anders' Mom, Eleonora, got a new little pup and since Eleonora lives next door to us, it's kinda like we got a new pup too. Her name is Samantha or Sammy, but I like to refer to her as Wiggles...because she is...all the time.

On Christmas Day, we took the pups to the beach so they could run about and play in the water. Here are a few pictures if you would like to see.

2nd most adventurous dog in the city

Ibex, one of our favorite clothing stores, was holding a "most adventurous dog contest" recently, and I decided that Maggie was pretty adventurous and should have a shot. So, I submitted a picture of her at the top of mailbox peak that I took with Anders and our buddy Shane when we were hiking, and, guess what? She tied for second place! Maggie won me a free pair of Ibex sock (which I LOVE) and she got her picture posted in the store. Ibex asked us to bring her in so they could meet her and I could collect my prize. It was very exciting.

Thanks, Ibex! We are thrilled! Maggie is going to start honing her skills for next year's contest.
