we're back!

Italy and Greece were amazing! Seriously... I highly recommend both places. We had such a great time, ate lots of outstanding food, made lots of memories and took a lot of pictures. But before I can get to said pictures, I am off again to Illinois for my little brother's wedding. Hey, does this make me a jet setter...or just crazy? Anyway, I'll be back in a few days with reports from it all!

The animated picture above is from Santorini. We were a wee bit excited to be there.

there are only seven days a week and someday isn't one of them

I've always had a pretty severe case of wanderlust. When I was in high school, I spent more time than I would like to admit researching the best times to go to Thailand even though I had never so much as step foot in a Thai restaurant. I was also one of the only kids on school trips to not get homesick, and, when I was in college, one of my favorite things to do was to look up apartments in all the dreamy cities where I could move. When I actually made it to Thailand a few years ago, I cried real tears when I discovered how close we were to Cambodia, but realized we had no way to fit it into our schedule. I still have Siem Reap dreams.

So, you can imagine my excitement to tell you that Tuesday we leave for a week in Italy followed by a week in Greece! I've been counting down the days for months now. I'm so excited to drink wine and eat olives in the Cinque Terre (I don't even like olives!) and soak up the views of the caldera in Santorini. I'm going to try my hardest to check in a few times while we're gone and share some pictures, but if it's rather quiet on here it's because I'm busy absorbing Italian and Greek culture (or I haven't found a working internet connection). And if for some reason it's silent on here longer than two weeks, it's because I got distracted by Turkey or Hungary or swept up by the South of France!

Only joking. I don't have THAT many vacation days!

Ciao!

labor day

Here are some instagrams from our Labor Day weekend. A BBQ with friends (and their kids!) on Sunday and a boat ride on Lake Washington on Monday. Hope you all had a nice weekend too! Does this mean summer is over?
