color me happy

Hi guys! Here are a few instagrams from the color run we did on Sunday. It was one, big, awesomely colorful party with some exercise thrown in. Everyone wins!

Time for FOOTBALL! 

We went to the first pre-season Seahawks game on Saturday night, and we won. Think it's a good sign for the season? Even if not, the hot dogs were the bomb.com.

A gift from my Mother-in-Law. Pretty much amazing.

big bottom

Anders and I spent last weekend camping on the property we own with friends. It is located down south by Mt. Rainier in a place that is lovingly referred to as the Big Bottom Valley. I like to think of our land as our secret playground. It's hidden far off the freeway and the ten acres next to us just happen to be owned by friends too, which gives us 15 acres of land to play on. Every summer you can almost always find someone camping down there, and this past weekend just so happened to have around 70 friends camping (we plan it that way!). It was a great weekend and since the weather was in the 90s (!) most of our time was spent staying cool in the river.

birds welcome

We have been working on our yard all summer. We are getting close to being finished, but we had this one blank fence wall that needed a little something. I had this vision of adding a bunch of colorful  birdhouses to it, so I went to Michaels and found some plain birdhouses and some paint, and we went to town. I even got Anders to paint a few of them! He said it was relaxing.

My friend, Mollie, works in a nursing home and she told me we would fit right in because her Seniors painted birdhouses last weekend too. Clearly it's the new must-do project.

They're cute, but I think I need more. I want a birdhouse city like this.

impromptu picnic

Anders and loaded up the pup and took her and her BFF, Perla, to Magnuson Park last Sunday. It was sort of a last minute decision, but that didn't stop us from grabbing a blanket and raiding the refrigerator  and turning the afternoon into a picnic in the park.

Sure was a different afternoon than the last time we were at this park!
