Seahawks posts on this blog should be winding down soon. Tomorrow is a big game. If we win we are going to the Superbowl! I'm freaking out. So nervous. Wish us luck!

seahawks and the fish market

This town was all a buzz today because the Saints were coming to town for the first Seahawks playoff game. We went to the game, which was cold and rainy and miserable and totally worth it because we won! We get to advance to the next round, and we are SO thrilled. Only 1 more win to go before we head to the big game. This.is.huge.

ramen burger



Okay okay. I know it's the new year, and we should all be detoxing from the holidays, but Anders and I couldn't resist trying out the latest New York food craze...the ramen burger! I mean, just look at this thing! It was amazing. Please stop what you are doing and make this now.

You can find tons of instructions online (like here) or videos at You Tube (here), but it is super easy. Here are the directions in a nutshell:

Step 1: Cook your package of ramen
Step 2: Drain and mix in 1 egg
Step 3. Split the noodles into two, and form two patties (we used a large ramekin to shape it, but anything "bun" shaped will work. Make sure to put plastic wrap underneath to get it out)
Step 4. Weight it down (we used a smaller ramekin)
Step 5: Put in the fridge for 15 minutes
Step 6: Remove from fridge and fry it in a skillet
Step 7: Die of deliciousness

Bonus tip: use the ramen noodle flavor package to season your burger!

saveur

What a great way to start the new year. Saveur magazine's Jan/Feb 20th Anniversary Edition came out not too long ago, and it features their favorite places, tools, ingredients, cookbooks etc.The Pike Place Fish guys were featured as one of the top seafood markets in the WORLD. The magazine only named three other fish markets (in London, Toyko and Sydney). I'm always so proud of the guys. They really do deserve the honor.
